I was born with a camera in my face, and not long after I had one in my hand. My Grandpa Eastman gave me my first point and shoot film camera at a very young age. Actually, this may or may not be true, but it fits my narrative so stay with me.
If you are at all interested in photography, the name Eastman may sound familiar to you. That is because of a little company called Eastman-Kodak. Kodak was responsible for bringing inexpensive film cameras to the consumer, allowing the entire world to capture their own “Kodak moments” at home. That is, before the iPhone of course.
As family legend has it, if you go far enough back on the family tree we are distantly related to the Eastman-Kodak family. Again, this also may or may not be true but it’s a nice introductory story for a photographer’s bio right?
My name is Katy Ehlers and I am an Orange County based white collar professional by day. Outside of the office you can find me, camera in hand, looking for pretty things to take pictures of. I love traveling, snowboarding, watching UCLA football, staying active, and trying new an exciting things with my two favorite sidekicks, my husband Kris and our fur-child, a boxer named Dunkel (both pictured).
Have camera. Will travel. Let me help capture your memories.
